SAN DIEGO, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- San Diego based Phyre Technologies, Inc., maker of fuel thermal stabilization and fuel tank fire prevention systems, today announced an eighteen-month agreement with Rolls-Royce North American Technologies Inc. -- also known as LibertyWorks(R) -- to provide Phyre's proprietary de-oxygenation system. This system will be used to improve fuel stability for better thermal management of advanced engine designs.
Phyre's Advanced De-Oxygenation System (PADS) is a closed loop, environmentally friendly design that allows for significant increases in fuel temperatures, while dramatically reducing coking and deposit levels in the engine. Phyre's innovative technology allows for the removal of dissolved oxygen in liquid fuels, oils and water with numerous beneficial consequences.

Dr. Lynn Snyder, Chief of Advanced Propulsion Concepts for LibertyWorks(R), commented: "We are happy to be working in conjunction with Phyre Technologies. Their unique technologies will allow Rolls-Royce to push beyond current fuel temperature limits -- important in achieving a step-change in propulsion development -- while minimizing the environmental impact."
